Mikayla was born into the agriculture industry and has never left! She spent part of her life growing up in Northwest Iowa on her family’s farm where they raised hogs and grew corn and soybeans. Her family also owned and operated Nelson Products – the world’s largest baby pig feeder manufacturer, giving Mikayla a glimpse into corporate business at a young age that would influence her in her future endeavors. In middle school, her family moved to Southeast Kansas. There, her family kept a small acreage where they raised cattle and horses, while still traveling to Northwest Iowa for spring planting and fall harvest.
Mikayla went on to attend Kansas State University where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Animal Science in 2011 and received her Masters of Agricultural Communication from Oklahoma State University in 2015. Throughout her career, Mikayla has held various marketing and public relations roles in the equine industry and animal health sector. She obtained her Kansas Real Estate License in 2020. Her unique blend and involvement in the agriculture industry, along with her marketing expertise, are skills Mikayla brings to help farmers and ranchers with their real estate needs.
“Listening to the client’s needs and having continuous communication during every step of the real estate process is essential. I am here to help, no matter how small or large your needs may be.”
In her spare time, Mikayla can be found outside with her animals. She is an avid team roper and never misses a chance to spend time in the saddle. She currently lives in Fort Scott, Kansas, but recently bought an acreage in central Kansas. She looks forward to turning her property into a small horse facility where she will raise and ride horses for years to come.
