Ted Baum owns and operates Elgin Livestock Sales Inc. in Elgin, Nebraska, along with his wife Jo Ann, his mother Doris Baum, and three of his four brothers. Ted attended the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, graduating with an Associate Degree in Production Ag. He also graduated from the Reisch World Wide College of Auctioneering.

Ted has been involved in real estate sales and auctions since 1982. His extensive experience has given him the expertise to effectively market farms and ranches across Nebraska. He was named the 1991 Nebraska Bid Calling Champion, the 1995 Greater Midwest Livestock Auctioneer Champion, has been a three-time Top Ten qualifier in the World Livestock Auctioneer Contest and a two-time Top Ten qualifier in the International Livestock Auctioneer Contest in Calgary.

Ted grew up on Baum Ranch, southwest of Elgin, Nebraska. He currently resides with Jo Ann in Elgin. They have six children. Ted enjoys auctioneering and is a supporter of the 4-H and FFA chapters.
